Signing up for text alerts
How somebody agrees to receive LeagueBucket League Alerts: where the number is entered, the exact words beside the checkbox, and what happens next.
- Program
- LeagueBucket League Alerts, run by LeagueBucket LLC for the leagues that use LeagueBucket.
- What we send
- Game reminders, changes to a scheduled game, and results — only for a league you are a member of. A one-time confirmation when you sign up, and replies to STOP and HELP. Never marketing.
- How often
- Message frequency varies. Up to 10 messages per month.
- Cost
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Stop or get help
- Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help, or email support@leaguebucket.com.
- Required?
- No. Consent is not a condition of joining a league, playing, or any purchase.
1. Where the number is entered
Only in one place: a league's Text settings page, which a member reaches while signed in to the account they joined that league with. There is nowhere else on LeagueBucket that takes a number for texts.
The member types their own mobile number and ticks a checkbox that starts unchecked. The box is only for texts — it is on its own page, separate from creating an account and from accepting our Terms of Service, and nothing else is agreed to by ticking it. Saving is refused if the box is not ticked, and that is checked on our server, not only in the browser.
Nobody can sign somebody else up. A commissioner cannot enter a player's number, and neither can a teammate.
2. What happens after the box is ticked
- We record the consent: the number, the date and time, the IP address and browser it came from, and the version of our terms in force at that moment.
- We text the number once to check it really belongs to the person who entered it. They are enrolled only after they reply YES. Until then, nothing else is sent.
- Our carrier registration is still being completed, and no text is sent before it is. Consent given in the meantime is kept, and the member's settings page tells them plainly that nothing has been sent yet.
3. How to stop
Reply STOP to any message. STOPP, CANCEL, END, QUIT and UNSUBSCRIBE work the same way. We send one final message confirming it, and nothing after that.
Members can also press Turn texts off on the same Text settings page, or email support@leaguebucket.com and ask us to do it.
4. Who can sign up
Adults, for their own number. We do not text players recorded as minors — a parent or guardian signs up with their own number and receives that player's alerts. That rule is enforced by our database, not only by the form.
Sign up for texts
Texts are set per league, so signing up needs the account you joined your league with. Sign in, choose your league, and open its text settings.
Sign inNot in a league on LeagueBucket yet? Your league's commissioner sends the invitation that creates your membership.
