About
I'm Mark. I run a local bowling league, and for a long time I ran it out of whatever was closest to hand — a spreadsheet, a group chat, a lot of retyping. I went looking for something better and didn't like what I found. Most of it was built for organizations much bigger than mine, cost more than a rec league takes in, or wanted to put ads in front of my players.
So I built what I wanted for my own league. Somewhere the schedule lives once, standings work themselves out, and nobody has to ask who won last week.
Once it worked, it was obvious the problem wasn't mine alone. Every trivia night, bar league, kickball season and board game club is running on the same spreadsheet and the same group chat. That's what turned a thing I made for myself into something I'm building for other people.
I enjoy sports and games. I also enjoy organizing things and writing software, which turns out to be most of what running a league actually is.
One person. I'm an electrical engineer by training and I build LeagueBucket on my own — there's no team, no investors, and no sales department waiting for you to book a demo. If you email support, you are emailing me.
That shapes the product more than anything else about it. Features land when they work rather than when a quarter ends, and the site says plainly which ones aren't built yet, because I'd rather lose a sign-up than have you find out later.
Or read the no-ads commitment first. It's the part I care most about getting right.
