Acceptable Use Policy
What you agree not to do on LeagueBucket. Part of the Terms of Service by reference.
{{PLACEHOLDER}} marks a fact that has not been decided or does not exist yet. Do not treat this page as legally binding until it has been reviewed by an attorney and republished with a real effective date.1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes conduct that is prohibited when using LeagueBucket. It is part of the Terms of Service, and a violation of this AUP is a violation of those Terms.
2. Prohibited conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- Break the law, or help anyone else do so.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against anyone.
- Impersonate another person, league, or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
- Enter, upload, or otherwise submit any information about a person under 18 -- name, birthdate, contact information, roster entry, or anything else -- while LeagueBucket remains an adult-only service. See the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for the one exception (the youth-league waitlist, which collects only an adult's own contact details).
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, or send messages to anyone through the Service's messaging features who hasn't consented to receive them.
- Upload content you don't have the rights to use -- including a sponsor's logo or branding without that sponsor's permission, or another person's photo without their consent.
- Attempt to access another league's private data, bypass row-level security or authentication, probe or scan the Service for vulnerabilities without our prior written permission, or otherwise interfere with the Service's normal operation.
- Attempt to circumvent plan limits or fees through technical means -- for example, scripting around a message-send quota, or structuring payments to avoid the platform fee that applies to registration fees and dues collected through the Service.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from the Service beyond what applicable law allows despite this restriction.
- Upload malware, or otherwise attempt to damage or disable the Service or another user's device.
- Use the Service to process payments for anything other than legitimate league activity (registration fees, dues, and similar).
3. Sponsor-defined content
Sponsor-defined awards and sponsor content submitted through the Sponsor Kit must not contain anything that would violate section 2 above. LeagueBucket may remove sponsor content that violates this policy, and reserves the right to review sponsor content before it becomes public.
4. Reporting a violation
If you believe someone is violating this policy -- including a claim that content on the Service infringes your intellectual property -- contact us at support@leaguebucket.com with enough detail for us to investigate (what happened, where, and, if relevant, the material you believe infringes your rights and your basis for that belief).
{{PLACEHOLDER: if the Service hosts a meaningful amount of user-uploaded content (photos, sponsor logos, testimonials), registering a DMCA takedown agent with the U.S. Copyright Office materially strengthens the safe-harbor protection available to us under 17 U.S.C. §512. That's a business decision with a small recurring cost, not something this draft resolves -- flagged for counsel and for Mark.}}
5. Enforcement
Violating this policy can result in content removal, a warning, suspension, or termination of an account or league, depending on severity, at our discretion. See the Terms of Service, "Termination," for how that process generally works.
